Pros

Decent wage and lots of benefits for a restaurant company. No uniform for FOH. Career progression opportunities ok.

Cons

Atmosphere and standards have changed as the group has expanded. Training programme not what it used to be. Feels corporate and chain-like.

Pros

Good beverage program, and some coworkers are great. You get paid weekly.

Cons

It's a disappointment. I've heard such amazing things from people about Hawksmoor in London, but this one is, honestly, awful. There's some good managers, and there's a few who harass employees and get away with it, even after HR says they're doing something about it. The good employees quit or get fired (for ambiguous reasons). Service quality is garbage. The food isn't good. They even sent a guest to the hospital, because they sent them a dish with an ingredient they knew the guest was severely allergic to. We don't feel heard. They didn't plan well. Chicago has so many steakhouses, and they opened this place without paying any attention to that. This location is a money pit. You'll get hired, and then you'll lose your hours. They cut hours like crazy and then overstaff and then cut more hours. It's bad. I had too many pay checks getting to the point where it didn't even cover my rent to be able to want to do more than the bare minimum while I'm at work. People don't care about the place anymore. And the guests that are coming in are horrible to deal with. It's riddled with MAGA. Oh, and they changed insurance plans within the first year of being open. Now we're paying more for insurance, and it's a worse insurance company.
