Pros
1. Flat Organizational structure - so workwise, there isn't much difference between a manager and a sales executive. The only boss in the branch is the branch head. 2. A good company to start your sales career with. You will understand how money moves in the FMEG sector. Havells is the only electrical company to work in such a way. Others have followed route only post 2013. 3. Every year your salary grows between 15 ~ 30 %, depending on your performance. But 20% is average y-o-y growth for many. 4. Once you have set your channel / market, 7 to 10 days is all you require to work essentially in a month. 5. Stay with the firm between 2 ~ 5 years (max.) to boost up your commercial / sales skills. Then move to the next better bargain.
Cons
1. Travelling and out-station expenses awarded by the company are bad. Despite having become an MNC, the miser baniya culture still exists in certain sections. 2. Starting salaries are still below average. 2 ~ 4 lacs essentially for various colleges and 6 ~ 8 lacs for students from KJ Somaiyah, BIMTEC Noida & Thapar Univ. 3. The general population in Havells is not very knowledgeable in Electrical Technology. So you will have to study all by yourself to make a difference. This attitude will help you crack companies like Siemens, ABB, Schneider & Eaton Tech.
