Pros

Great coworkers Free books Summer Fridays Opportunity to meet great authors I’m grateful for the experience and meeting some terrific people who have become lifelong friends.

Cons

This company, particularly the Nashville/Gran Rapids branches, are just known for churning and burning through their marketing and editorial staff. Get the experience you need but be prepared to always have other options since the business units are all siloed and many are toxic. HR is always underwater so they don’t really serve a purpose for the main employees. The discussion of career growth is frowned upon and those promoted are usually the most incompetent. I was realigned under someone with zero managerial (not to mention life) experience and it made myself and the rest of our group absolutely miserable. So many former employees who have left are thriving in their new endeavors and have stated that they would never return to that toxic company. Which is sad because it could be so much better but has poor leadership from the top down.

Pros

Fully remote with all necessary tech provided, weekday schedule, great benefits, good leadership, small close-knit teams, generous PTO in addition to paid holidays

Cons

Base salary could be better but is offset with benefits package. Employee retention is high (a huge plus IMO) butcould limit upward mobility if you're looking for it.
