Pros
-The work you do contributes to the production of life saving products -On-site cafeteria with really reasonable prices; good work-life balance -Relaxed atmosphere in some departments -Pretty good health insurance -Immediate company vesting in 401K
Cons
-Some groups have only two tiers in their job family, so once you hit that second level, there is no more growth unless you apply for open positions within the company -This is a company that retains a lot of its employees and many make it life long careers, which in itself is a pro, but it makes moving up for others difficult since that leads to very few vacancies which is a big negative for those aspiring to grow their careers there -Mandatory two week vacation during company shutdown in late June/July which pretty much requires you to use all your accrued vacation during that time frame, saving little to none to use prior for any personal issues -Lack of separate sick/personal time which leads to issues with the above
