Pros

Accrued time, even though you aren't able to "be off"

Cons

Where do I begin: - leadership is too worried about what designer bag they will be carrying as opposed to what's going on within their portfolio. No sense of teamwork unless employees seek out friendships. - reporting, reporting, reporting. That's all that Greystar seems to want their employees to do. Reporting doesn't allow for growth of knowledge or skill, it just sucks your time out of doing more important things, like helping your residents. - PTO is never truly PTO. You are still emailed, texted, called to finish items due. Proxies are not given because each property is so specific that other managers can't even assist. If something goes south while you're on vacation, you will be the one to deal with it. - training, or lack thereof. Not once are trainers or mentors given unless a manager elects for one. If the manager elects a team member to assist in training, it is a 2-3 day process of worthless HR information. Said employee is then given a bonus for doing something they should do regardless. - there is no work/life balance. You are constantly on your phone. If a report is sent incorrectly, you are expected to fix it regardless of the time. - there is so much red tape with dealing with clients. The client comes first, the residents come second, and the team comes third. Is that not completely backwards? The client is "always right" and leadership is too scared to disagree with anything that should be disagreed upon out of worry that they'll lose an asset. - there is no exit interviewing. I would assume this is out of fear that all exit interviews would go poorly, which I'm sure they would.

Pros

-Great networking opportunities. -Good IT support. -Great benifits. -Great employee housing discount and housing opportunities. -Commissions will make your paycheck worth it.

Cons

-Management is broad and impersonal. You may feel like a number. -Your workload can be a lot at times. if you work well under pressure, you'd succeed here. -The leasing season is not year round meaning you will have slow months and you will have good ones. Save in the good months to get through the slow ones. -High turnover. Resilience will get you far. -It's rare that you get your weekends at a company like this.
