Horribly Unprofessional & Hostile Work Environment - Inspector/Packer Glass Flooring Systems Employee Review

Pros

Wide variety of work selection. Decent amount of potential knowledge to be obtained. A lot of work to keep you busy.

Cons

Boss will target and then verbally abuse employees he is not fond of. Boss will use vulgar language and curse profanities at employees whenever he feels the work is not being done fast enough. Boss uses discriminatory language against specific sexual orientations and has done so while I worked there. The Boss (Wayne) explodes into infantile temper tantrums and then starts yelling at employees on a daily basis. The Boss is completely unprofessIonal and his presence on site instantly creates a hostile working environment. If you try to talk it out with him…he will only become more petty, nasty, and spiteful. The employee turnover rate is so high that I couldn’t keep track of my coworker’s names most weeks. Almost every employee that worked there either quit or was fired. The Boss can’t keep skilled reliable workers for longer than a few weeks or months, which results in customer’s orders being delayed anywhere from 6 months to 1 year late.

Pros

The role itself was clearly described during the interview process and offered exposure to the industry.

Cons

I worked in this position for approximately two months. During that time, there was significant turnover in the role (I was the sixth employee to hold the position within a year). While the job description was accurate, performance expectations felt unrealistic given the learning curve. Communication from management often lacked clarity, forethought, and professionalism, which made expectations difficult to interpret and created unnecessary friction. The termination was abrupt.
