Pros

Hey there đź‘‹ I feel pretty grateful and lucky to be here. As someone who started in the sales team, I've been able to learn about other functional areas of the business and grow into a new exciting role. I'm especially encouraged by the investments our CEO and management team have placed in nurturing the people and company culture. - Remote work is supported. It is dependent on the hiring manager, so if this is important to you, be sure to bring it up in your interviews. - Company is transparent about financial performance. A few times per quarter, we meet to review the numbers and get a chance to ask questions. - People have autonomy. From my experience, and from what I've observed in other departments, micromanagement is not a thing. - People work 40 hours weeks. I can't account for every person in the company, but most of the year this is what I observe. - People here are welcoming, helpful, smart, and refreshingly friendly. - Matt, our CEO has been communicative, pragmatic, considerate, and a leader. He has the mindset of a servant leader, which makes solving problems rewarding and fun. - Our products are so good y'all. GitKraken Client is *chef's kiss* and I'm pretty optimistic about GitLens and Git Integration for Jira. - We're growing and hiring. I personally love onboarding new Krakeneers, so I'm excited to see new faces join.

Cons

- We recently went through an acquisition, and so there a lot of sawdust flying around. Those seeking established company policies and workflows may find it still forming here, but there's the opportunity to help shape it. - We've run a lean ship for a long while now. However, we've been meaningfully expanding and reinforcing existing team members. A welcome change. - We have US and international teams, which makes coordinating meetings tricky.

Pros

Lots of autonomy. Great people to work with. I've only been here a year, but we have teammates who have been here for a decade which I think is incredibly encouraging. Everybody's opinions and concerns are considered when it comes to planning and the direction of the products.

Cons

Very startup-like with occasionally shifting goals. I don't think it's a negative thing, but some could consider it as such.

Pros

Some talented and genuinely kind coworkers (though they don’t stay long) Occasional flexibility in schedule, depending on your manager.

Cons

Toxic environment: Longtime employees have mastered the art of blaming newcomers to avoid accountability. High turnover: Many senior and high-performing employees have left recently, a definite red flag. False sense of autonomy: Despite what you’ll read elsewhere, there’s very little independence. Expect strict micromanagement and constant monitoring of your online status. Remote work under pressure: The company is clearly moving away from remote-friendly policies, forcing remote workers into rigid Arizona-based schedules regardless of time zone. Low pay disguised as competitive: Compensation lags behind industry averages, but leadership insists otherwise. Unstable products: The core product is outdated, and newer initiatives feel half-baked. There’s a lot of “positive spin” from executives, but it doesn’t match reality. Lengthy hiring process: It looks thorough but should be viewed as an early sign of internal disorganization and micromanagement from the top down.
