Pros

work from home and free food

Cons

My review is in response to the former content writer who mentioned me in their review. It is funny that the former content writer says I was ‘shown the door’ due to my work output. I resigned because I saw that the internal role I was offered after- being told they couldn’t afford two content writers - was now being advertised again – after they told me it wouldn’t go up again once I accepted it. When I handed in my notice I was told that the role I’d been offered that I saw advertised was not *my* role and there’d been a misunderstanding. So now it’s a case of the former content writer lying or HR & the CEO telling lies? Alas, the sycophantic, cruel and frankly deluded review from that content writer shows the type of behaviour that is rewarded at Get Licensed - bullying others and doing the higher-ups dirty work to maintain their image. The other content writer used to regularly write content that needlessly inserted their political views and was awash with spelling mistakes. Hence, they’re in no position to tell anyone they’re not fit to be a content writer. I have since moved on to a content role at a FTSE 250 company, so I’ll politely decline the advice that I’m not cut out for a career in content.

Cons

They only want “yes” people. If anyone knows better than the COO or CEO they will only accept that knowledge for a certain amount of time. When they come up with mad ideas they expect those to be taken fully on-board. When they get told how to grow the business and scale it they only accept your first few ideas which are incredibly successful. After that, they think they’ve got everything from you and will get rid of you. They fire people just before they have any employment rights. They work on a hire and fire basis and don’t try and work with people.

Thank you for the feedback. The reviewer worked with the business for close to two years, during which time they were given responsibility, support, and the opportunity to contribute within a Sales Manager role in a developing function. Sales leadership roles are assessed on delivery against agreed objectives, as well as the ability to operate constructively in a fast-changing, founder-led environment. Where performance expectations and ways of working are not aligned, it can become clear over time that the role is not the right fit. We do not recognise the characterisation of a “hire and fire” culture. Like many growing businesses, we make decisions based on performance, accountability, and the long-term needs of the organisation. We appreciate the contribution made during the time here and wish the reviewer well in a role better suited to their expectations.
