This is a valuable experience for someone starting out in the industry. - Analysts are given opportunities to attend conferences. Not all companies do this. - Work-life balance is generally good, but still dependent on workflow and project manager. - Learning opportunity is available. The extent of which various according to the amount of effort an individual puts into it. Some senior staff are very encouraging and willing to teach. This is a good practice which should be kept. - Positive culture. Peers are very friendly and are people who you can have a drink with.
Cons
- Top-heavy. Oftentimes, senior staff win projects at the same time. The analyst pool is small, so it can get very busy at peak periods. Managers had to step in to fill this gap. - No clear career progression. Vague standards on how to reach the next level. - Analysts double up as research staff while handling project deadlines. - Distribution of work can be uneven within the same band.
