Pros

The best reason to work at GI Alliance is to help patients. Doctors are providing an essential health service to a LOT of people - anyway to assist in that endeavor is fulfilling despite how egomaniacal some providers can be. (*cough* Dr. Akerman, Dr. Hogan, Dr. Bernsen and others *cough* )

Cons

GI Alliance's biggest fault is its cancerous rate of expansion. The company has exploded in size for many years, but there has been almost zero focus on internal growth to facilitate the rapid expansion. As a result, the corporate side of the organization is failing. Working in that environment made it hard to continue finding fulfillment in supporting the medical staff. If you want to work somewhere with a solid internal structure, GI Alliance is not the place. Another con is the culture. As my title implied, the providers are first. But that makes sense, they ARE the reason GI Alliance exists... to an extent. The company can only truly operate at the capacity it does because of the general corporate staff that do everyday legwork. You'd think there would be some appreciation for the effort these people painstakingly spend so that these providers can line their pockets even mo- I mean treat patients even more, but that is not the case. It's not a toxic environment, but it's not an altogether positive environment either. Unless you're a doctor, I suggest looking elsewhere if you want somewhere to work with a vibrant, fun culture. GI Alliance is not that place. The last con is a result of the two before; however, it may just be a personal experience of mine. There is no earnestly fair system for judging annual performance, and if there is, it is not appropriately overseen. Ultimately, I felt like a ghost.

Pros

Ability to work from home occasionally.

Cons

Very political. Management makes sweeping decisions without listening to the actual subject matter experts.
