Low pay. Too much data entry. Zero outlook. Over-promising. - Senior Research Analyst Fund Evaluation Group Employee Review

Pros

Easy work, not challenging. There are some perks around the fringes, such as paid trips to conferences and fund meetings, and it's easy to get reimbursed for trip expenses.

Cons

The company does not care about any of the analysts because they know how easily they can be replaced. The company policy is to pay at the 50th percentile of all research analysts in the country, adjusted for Cincinnati's cost of living. Their calculation is off and is evident in the amount of analyst turnover (hint: turnover is very high) Even after obtaining a CFA and MBA, don't expect to make more than $60k and don't expect annual raises above an inflation adjustment. It will take at least 10 years as an analyst to approach $80k. If you're the smartest and hardest working analyst in the world, it'll still take 8 years. There are much better finance opportunities in Cincinnati that pay more, give more challenging work, and have a better outlook.
