Pros

My colleagues are a great group of people, and their support is the only reason why I stay with the company. New supervisors who genuinely cares about the team and are focused on fostering a positive culture change. Committed to streamlining processes and leveraging technology to improve workflows and ease workloads. Strong DEI initiatives.

Cons

Legacy management engages in heavy micromanagement and mistreats both the paraprofessional and attorney teams. Lack of concern for employee well-being or appreciation for their hard work. Constant negative feedback creates a toxic environment, contributing to low morale. One of the CSMs is extremely toxic and undermines the team’s progress, acting as though she owns the team. Despite the ongoing issues, the partners seem indifferent and have not addressed the toxic behavior, further demotivating the team. Many great, experienced, and knowledgeable employees have left the firm due to the toxic CSM, and the partners didn’t seem to care enough to intervene or address the issue.

Pros

Decent overtime pay. I also had a decent training/onboarding experience, but this was not the norm.

Cons

Exploitative, 80+ hour work weeks, 2am messages from attorneys, burn-out model for paralegals and associates (scoop them up after BA or JD and overwork them until they quit), misrepresent case load during interview by 50% of total, low ceiling for non-attorney career advancement. Have an exit plan.
