Pros

The pros for me were the yearly raises, four weeks paid vacation and some of the people that I worked with

Cons

The cons for me was the stagnation of finding new business and being let go because of it. People in charge more worried about putting money in their pockets than doing what was best for the firm as a whole

Pros

Highly professional group of Attorneys, with wide-ranging areas of specialization and expertise, who perform at a high level of creatively strategic initiation and defense of litigation, as well as pro-active avoidance of litigation.

Cons

Long hours, and high expectations, which together generate a consistently stressful work environment, in which one must always perform at the top of one's game, regardless of demands and/or crises in one's personal and family life.

Pros

Some friendly people/attorneys, and nice firm parties for various holidays. With that said, the majority of the employees are sedentary and overweight, and DEPRESSED! Zombie land.

Cons

Where do I start? The firm pays peanuts and salary/bonus is not commensurate with your experience level or billable hours or collecting faaaaar more than is budgeted for you. Since this is a firm with many locations and the raises are only cost of living raises, they often "forget" that the cost of living in New Orleans (headquarters) is not the same as Houston, Miami, or Columbia. The firm is full of older people on the verge of retirement and sooooo technologically behind that you wonder how they are still open. You have to fill out a carbon copy form to request a check or request time off. If you ask the HR dept for a copy of a check, they have to look through their paper files and archives which will take about half an hour to an hour on a good day.
