Pros

Lots of good shows, great co workers. Opportunities to make good industry connections. Used to be really well run and well respected.

Cons

Take it or leave it attitude from management. They constantly imply in meetings that you're overpaid. They expect you to attend zoom meetings, answer emails, and give advice when you're not even on the clock. Facility is falling apart and gear is outdated. Management has little regard for crew safety or well being and doesn't understand the actual physical work of putting on a show. Nobody in the front office went to school for theater and they need every single element of stagecraft explained to them. No promotion from within, ever. Management consistently scapegoats lower level employees. Serious case of "nonprofit mentality". They think that every single thing has to be done for as little money as possible and it ends up compromising the product. During covid they let the entire stage crew, some with 20+ years of service, to rot on unemployment while bringing in contractors to produce outdoor shows. No holiday bonuses ever. Benefits are very poor. No chance of a raise, ever.

Pros

Working with skilled performers and crew. The Flynn has a lot of history and when the right team is there, it's a great place to work,

Cons

They are having difficulty hiring a Director of Production because they don't seem to know what it is they are looking for in candidates. Once they have a qualified person running the Production Department, a lot of the drama will subside. Currently it's pretty chaotic though.
