Pros
- Strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration. If I asked a question, it wouldn't be long before at least 2-3 people would be offering tips and suggestions. Thankfully, this meant that teams weren't competitive with each other - it was more about succeeding together - Good training opportunities. I came in with no C++ experience, and the company was keen to offer hands-on training to close that gap - Hands-on training meant I could see how the product worked from the level I needed to - Benefits are decent - good range of mental health app access, dental, medical, pension, etc. - Good flexibility to allow for medical conditions. I came in as a disabled employee, and Flextrade made sure to discuss with me what additional adjustments, equipment, etc., may be needed to help support me. All of this was done in an earnest and non-judgemental way - really well-handled!
Cons
- Mixed work-life balance, although with expectation of compensation and recognition. Ultimately, I think my issue is that 9-6 working hours seem a bit excessive. I'm not sure I achieved anything more than what I would have achieved for 9-5
