Pros

Free coffee & Electric charging – The coffee here is free and is charging your electric car. Location - They are based in Park Royal very easy to get to via car. Salary – They offer competitive salary when they hire you but expect no pay-rise, bonus or career progression after that.

Cons

Office environment – Is generally stressful and feeling there is a feeling of colleagues over-worked being burnt out when speaking to them which explains long queue at coffee machine. Long working hours – Although they mention 8 to 5pm on offer letter but most people end-up starting early and finishing way past 6. Management/directors are aware but refuse to act. Changes to role – You’ll not only deal with frequent changes to your work location and line mgt but also significant changes to your role as well, every 6 months. As the company is short-staffed they usually ‘throw’ resource at a problem where there is shortfall that month. Hence, you may end up doing roles you didn’t sign-up for. Revolving door – If you’re not happy with above you’re welcome to leave. Don’t expect any sympathy, counter-offer or attempts to make you stay from your line managers. When I left after nearly 2 years of working there I was one of the longest person working there, Pay Review & Bonus – Although my offer letter specifically mentioned 10% discretionary bonus. I didn’t receive a penny in 2 years that I worked there (no explanation, review or appraisal). I didn’t receive any pay review as well. There is no formal process of annual appraisal. Work-life balance – As the company suffers from short-staff you’ll not be provided any holiday cover. You’ll have to ensure you deal with all email and requests you missed when you’re away. You’ll also have to make yourself available to your line manager in-case they need anything urgent. The owner is a hot-head and generally shouts down at people. If he/management don't like you they will 'manage you' out of your job by creating stress environment for you to work in.

Pros

You can gain a broad range of experience and develop skills across multiple areas of the business. Employees who are willing to work hard and take on additional responsibilities may build valuable knowledge that can benefit them later in their careers. There are many hardworking and capable people throughout the organisation, and it is possible to learn a great deal from the variety of projects and responsibilities encountered. In my experience, much of this development came from individual determination and adaptability rather than from structured training programmes.

Cons

In my experience, workloads were often demanding, with employees regularly taking on additional responsibilities without a corresponding increase in pay or recognition. Career progression was not always clear, and I sometimes observed external candidates being recruited into more senior or better-paid positions while existing employees felt they had limited opportunities to progress. During my time with the company, there were also periods of restructuring and redundancies. In my view, this sometimes created uncertainty for employees and increased the workload of those who remained. The company also appeared to experience a relatively high level of staff turnover during my time there. Over time, I felt this contributed to a cycle where experienced employees left, new staff joined, and many of the same challenges continued to reoccur. While experiences will naturally vary between departments and individuals, I did not always feel that employee contribution, loyalty, and experience were recognised to the extent they could have been.

Pros

Variety of projects: Unlike large-scale construction, fit-out projects are often shorter in duration (e.g., 12-18 months) and can be incredibly varied. You could work on a high-end office one day and a retail space the next. Less "dull" work: The fast-paced nature means you're constantly moving from one project to the next, which can be less monotonous than long-term, large-scale builds. Direct impact: You get to see the immediate transformation of a space and the tangible results of your work.

Cons

Tight deadlines: Fit-out projects are known for their fast-paced nature and strict deadlines. This often requires long hours and weekend work, especially as a project nears completion. Pressure: The combination of time pressure and the need for precision can lead to a high-stress environment. Travel: Project locations can vary, which may mean a significant commute or a requirement to work away from home for periods of time.
