Unlike most of the employees at FLIP, I had worked in few larger organizations before coming to FLIP and had some idea of work culture in a startup. So I knew it will be lots of hard work, challenges but with it I will also have opportunity to be part of a growing business and will have a key contribution in it. In large companies, you are just an employee, who is supposed to come to office at 10 and finish a defined work and go back. In a larger company, you will not have a say in the direction that company wants to take or the policies that they make. But at FLIP (something that is true for most startups) you matter, your opinion is taken up and evaluated and implemented. You can actually go up to the CEO and senior management and discuss things. I don't remember that I could do that in any of my previous companies. In a startup, that too in a challenging space as FLIP, it is hard work all the way. So if that means that you have to work on odd Saturdays, so be it. You have to own the work that you are doing and make sure that it gets done. I find the work very challenging but the best part is that the company gives you chances to prove yourself and supports you in making sure you get that. Its lots of hard work and very steep learning curve and I would recommend it for someone who is ready for it.

I would not say that everything is perfect at FLIP but we are working to make it better.
