Pros

- Pretty easy job - Flexible hours for the most part - Good for college students - Friendly coworkers - Macy's AND Finish Line Employee discounts (awesome!) - Macy's is pretty decent for a retail place to work - You get to work AT Macy's, but don't have to work FOR Macy's, so you don't have to be pressured to meet their credit quotas, etc.

Cons

- Management will probably not be the best, depends on the store - Pressure placed on associates to sell insoles and other accessories, depending on your manager you can get written up if you don't perform. - Most of the time is spent standing around, so it kind of feels like you're wasting your time working there - You don't really learn about athletic shoes very much, it's mostly just style and a very slight knowledge of what the styles are for. Essentially no real training on the ins-and-outs of athletic shoes. This might also just be a problem at Finish Line Macy's. - There have been at least 4 different District Managers since I started working almost a year ago... They all try something new. I think that there is immense pressure on the DMs to innovate; for some reason they keep getting new ones.
