Pros
- Team members are great to work with, it's easy to build a nice camaraderie with everyone. - Good if you're in school as well, they'll work around your school schedule - Good discount with FedEx Express (75%) - You learn a lot of technical skills using machinery and software - It can be an exciting place to work when there's interesting print jobs to work on
Cons
- The pay is very low for what they expect you to know/do, especially when it comes to software knowledge. Photoshop and Illustrator are hard programs to learn, and if you don't have prior experience with it you'll have a tough time working in production. Graphic designers get paid a lot because they know how to work with these programs, whereas we get paid pennies for this knowledge. - The system is complicated for customers to use, and the company doesn't make it any easier for them, which means they'll take their frustration out on you, since you're the face of the company. - The shipping arm requires a lot of attention to detail, and you can get in big trouble for missing something or entering something incorrectly - The print quality is bad on the laser printers, which are quite old at this point. Customers often express dissatisfaction with this. - If you have a complaint about a teammate or manager for HR, it doesn't go very far. They don't do much to resolve things, which can end up leading to a toxic environment at times when certain people have to work together.
