Pros

Exceptional benefits (6% matching 401k contributions, pension, all vested at 5 years). Some really great people work in the company. Opportunities to travel. If you start as a client-servicing engineer, you have virtually unlimited opportunities for movement in the company. Protecting clients' businesses is an admirable goal for a company in this day and age. Lots of employees truly believe in the company's mission.

Cons

Management: while some managers are amazing, more managers micromanage, disrespect employees' professional skills, change your job roles and responsibilities without communicating this with employees in advance and some are not exactly honest. Some employees even seem to be "promoted up" to get them out of their current roles. The company's foray into diversity awareness seems to be just a check box to make them appear modernized and much more work is needed to decrease the effects of the "good ol' boys'" club. And while Agile has merit when done right, trying to implement it in a company that is knowledge-based and still stuck in this "good ol' boys'" club AND lacks enough employees to do it right is punching holes in the ship's hull. All of the changes and lack of increased head count have dropped morale to record low levels. If you don't start as a client-servicing engineer, your career path may be limited as promotions can be scarce due to the archaic grade system. Prospective employees may want to wait a few years to see how all these changes and issues shake out before committing to a job here.

Pros

* Great business model at the foundation * Solid compensation program: Base salary + bonus * Sustained high profitability over the long term * Stable employement * Pension Plan

Cons

* Extremely hierarchical and regimented * Promotions based on favortism rather than true merit. Employees are precategorized and stigmatized on their ability for future career progression. * Extremely focused on metrics and internal objectives. This leads to box checking, cutting corners and bending rules to meet the numbers. * Extremely heavy workload. No work-life balance. * Management doesn't really incorporate employee feedback; they pretend to to check a box. * Quality of job suffers to keep up with quantity. Everything is becoming data driven and the data is often wrong. Enormous pressure to hit a button and accept at face value whatever the system spews out. * Our CEO builds fancy gold plated office buildings that aren't needed and pulled the plug on hybrid work to justify the investment in the real estate.
