Pros

The ability to learn Direct Response marketing from some of the smartest practitioners in the business.

Cons

Poor processes, communication and staffing to be able to effectively deliver the services being offered. Many departments operate from and different cities and the communication between key stakeholders and support staff within the company is substandard. Different individuals in Senior Management have different strategies for what's important in the creative that's developed, and this has also fractionated the staff.

Pros

- Fast-paced, dynamic working environment -- something new every day - Results orientation -- laser focused on generating return for clients - Interesting client challenges -- clients look to Edge for guidance and strategic counsel - Great learning opportunities -- ability to own all aspects of a client engagement - Rewards entrepreneurial nature -- values ability to grow business and relationships

Cons

- Distributed network of offices can make collaboration and execution difficult - Limited integration of creative output/thinking (i.e., DRTV creative team, online creative team, as opposed to a single, unified creative team) - Types of client engaged -- traditional "infomercial" brands - Resource constraints -- lots of work, too few people (but they're looking to grow)

Pros

good development for entry level employees. Subordinates are friendly. Casual dress. No weekends.

Cons

They'll talk a good game and make all sorts of promises while in turn getting you to accept their low ball offer. Once you are in good then their real personality shows. Upper mgmt and hr couldn't care less about employee feedback to the point of ignoring suggestions and emails completely. Some of the hardest working team members have quit or were let go. The ones who kept quiet and were willing to suck up kept their jobs. Those who offered suggestions on improvements or would question things that didn't make sense are alienated by mgmt and peers, having to answer to rumors with no real substance or proof of legitimacy or just got their walking papers. There's a fake culture of a positive work environment, to hide and avoid real mgmt issues with their employees. Enforcing their power to demean, harass and basically lie to keep things under cover or seem different than they really are. They only care about the bottom line, $$$. Execs, mgmt and hr personnel are the only ones who get title promotions and raises. No raise in 5yrs of employment with good yearly reviews.
