Pros
The work is challenging and interesting. For every project you get to learn new science and technology. Usually you'll stay on a project from six months to two years before switching to another project. The Enthought team is fantastic, knowledgable, friendly, and willing to help one another. Management is responsive to problems. The salary is competitive and the company is growing. Advancement is based on aptitude, inclination, experience, and effort. Internal politics are nonexistent. Great location in downtown Austin.
Cons
As a small company, benefits are not as luxurious as big companies or universities. That said, the benefits are sufficient and the company reevaluates this periodically and improves this when they can. Communication has historically been poor. Some developers took on explicit management rolls in 2016, which has helped.
