Pros
Good people working alongside you, if you get teamed with the good ones
Cons
Management is completely detached from reality - budgets and schedules are unrealistic while the engineers are left to make up the difference. When this was an employee-owned company, at least the employees would see some of that profit. Now that the company has been sold (with no notice mind you), engineers are STILL overworked and required to make up for management slicing budgets and schedules for their pockets. The company evidently has the “curse of competence” mentality, I.e. the best engineers here are overworked and burnt out. Timesheet policies are abysmal, as mentioned in several other reviews, software is outdated because the industry also subscribes to an archaic mentality. And as someone else mentioned, the engineers get blamed for mistakes, even if you’re working under such harsh conditions. Engineers are just pawns to upper management. I have heard the term “professional time” way too often since working here.
