Pros

Great benefits, friendly lower-level/mid-level employees, and fun social events. Summer and holiday events are enjoyable and well planned. Amazing location, easily accessible by metro, and great restaurants nearby.

Cons

-Organization is full of secrets, including the employee handbook (yes, you read that right). After years of back-and-forth and executive guarantees, there was no corporate communication on policy updates. Even as I was leaving the company, the most up-to-date version of the handbook was apparently no closer to being released, even after weeks of asking (and it included some information that would’ve been helpful to have) -Diversity and inclusion efforts are only surface deep; after a company-wide D&I survey unearthing substantial room for improvement, no responsive actions were taken for more than a year to improve any element of the culture, as far as I could tell. -Constant infighting between C-suite level executives; decisions were postponed, and information was difficult to obtain by staff. Meetings with various officers were frequently awkward and uncomfortable for middle management, as contentious arguments routinely broke out. On several occasions, I heard about officers actually storming out of meetings in fits of indignation. -No growth for lower-level employees; opportunities were shared with a limited group. -The high turnover of brilliant young professionals in the last few years is not seen as a problem. When one young person left, I overheard someone in management remark that, "that is just what millennials do." Are you starting your career? EEI is not a great choice - perhaps come back in 40 years, and you will have more luck!
