Pros

Competitive commission structure There are still a few collaborative, friendly consultants who behave with a good level of integrity

Cons

- Led by an MD who lacks leadership skills and gravitas, and hadn't worked in a leadership role, in a consultative business like EMR previously - Previously an organisation that would pride itself on hiring consultative individuals with recruitment or industry experience, or both. More recently there is a focus on bringing on graduates and hiring for growth rather than skills, then putting them in front of clients, and hoping for the best. This has damaged the brand - I have personally come across several clients that worked with EMR and now no longer want to use them for their recruitment. - Consultants are managed by KPIs - there is a heavy focus on call times, CVs sent and candidates met. This is how the business will measure your success if you are a consultant at any level. - There are issues with drug use, bullying and sexual harassment. I have witnessed all three of these first hand.

Pros

People that work there and social aspect but standard for any recruitment company. Their office is nice

Cons

Treated staff horrible during a global pandemic. During a pandemic left most staff go and didn't even post your belongings to you after making you redundant. Expected to you travel to the London office during lockdown, i was working from home so could not travel to the office and they threw my personal belongings away without notifying me. They refused to post them to me. Anna the Managing director informed me without an apology or empathetic explanation and had a poor manner towards me regarding this. 2 pairs of designer shoes worth over £1000 were apparently thrown in the bin. Needless to say they don't care about the people who worked for them or that there was a pandemic in place and just got rid of my property without warning or a chance to get the issue resolved.

EMR Recruitment Response

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, we’re very proud of our lovely office and are glad to have such a sociable team. It’s great to hear that you enjoyed your time at EMR. We’re sorry that you were upset that we didn’t courier your belongings back to you. After you left the business back in July 2020, we happily stored your belongings securely for 15 months (the vast majority of this timeframe falling outside of lockdown measures). We have done our very best to support our team through these challenging times and did not expect you or anyone else to travel into London during lockdown. Having failed to collect your belongings after almost a year and a half, and not having heard back from you, we moved into a lovely new office and hope you understand that we could no longer continue to keep your items indefinitely. We’re pretty sure that we looked after them longer than your average dry cleaner would retain items awaiting collection.
