Pros

The people that work at EMBR Labs are genuine. They're some of the most fun people I have had the pleasure of hanging out with, and they believe in what they're doing. Good times and positive vibes were a definite part of the company culture and that's not easy to overlook in a career.

Cons

The downsides of working at EMBR were the downsides of working at a startup. Office/workspace changes and sharing, figuring out financials and what roles were actually needed, constant pivoting, etc. Communication could also be somewhat lacking between the full and part-time folks, making it harder for the part-time folks to deliver quality work when they were trying to catch up on the latest pivot.

Pros

Embr Labs is filled with some of the most thoughtful, creative, and supportive individuals I’ve had the pleasure of working with. The team’s collaborative spirit stands out — everyone genuinely wants to help each other grow and succeed, which is impressive for such a small, agile company. The product itself, Embr Wave 2, carries a meaningful mission — empowering people to find comfort and relief from temperature changes that are out of their control. That purpose makes the work feel truly impactful. The CEO, Liz, is incredibly inspiring and deeply invested in her team’s growth. Despite how demanding her role is, especially while raising capital, she still finds time to personally coach, mentor, and check in. Her leadership and accessibility make a lasting impression. Embr has also received numerous public awards and accolades, which is a testament to the innovation and care that go into both the product and the brand.

Cons

If you prefer working at a larger, publicly traded company with more established structures and funding, Embr Labs may not be the right fit. It’s a smaller, fast-moving environment that requires flexibility and comfort with change. The only reason I’m giving a 4 instead of a 5 is simply because I no longer work there — my experience overall was overwhelmingly positive.
