Pros
Where to begin ? As a manager you have a direct line to the owners, which is a double edged sword. It’s a simple concept and a simple company rates of pay are not the worst and if you are in the office environment it is at least warm . It isn’t all bad but it’s not great either.....If you are thinking of accepting a position here you should know that while some people have been with the company years many myself included don’t last long .
Cons
It would be very easy to list a lot of cons. pay, sick pay welfare and pensions are all thorny subjects and It isn’t hard to be negative in any company if you are unhappy. Other reviewers have stated a culture of bulling and unprofessional in fighting and to a degree I can support that as I witnessed plenty of both. However the biggest single issue is that the company has been built - to the credit of the owners - from nothing. It has grown beyond all recognition from the company it started out as and therein lies the problem. It is now too big to be a small operation and too immature to be an efficient big one. Consequently it is a chaotic combination of micro Management or no Management ! Some key Managers are too inexperienced to actually take responsibility and there is a playground mentality of apportioning blame and deflecting responsibility rather than examining what went wrong and putting appropriate measures in place. Double standards , interference from HR in every level based on fear of being in trouble rather than a desire to protect employees. HR have too much influence and a culture of mistrust prevails. The list goes on but it all stems from the fundamental flaw in the organisation in that it is afraid to let go of the reigns and empower mangers to do what needs to be done.
