Pros

Discover Strength pays generally way for personal training, offers good benefits, and gives you the opportunity for growth.

Cons

They tell you that work life balance is great, but I quickly found out that was not the case. Outside work and extra meetings are always thrown onto your calendar without notice. They never asked what my preferred availability was when it came to scheduling after training was over, this was very frustrating because they say it's a very professional job but don't necessarily treat you as such. Many of the other trainers are very masculine white males and create a generally uncomfortable atmosphere for those that are female, LGBTQ, minorities, etc. If you're not the typical gym/sports junkie, they don't really give you their time of day. Also, during the interview process, they would tell you when the next interview was, and if you couldn't make that time work, then you were out of luck. This was absolutely unprofessional on their part to only have one day/time that they are willing to do an interview.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We take current and past employees' feedback very seriously. We are relentless about making the employee experience the best place to work (especially for personal trainers). We would like to address just a couple of your "cons" above: None of our trainers work more than a 40-hour workweek including meetings (unless they prefer to). This is much different than the vast majority of the industry as many trainers will train from 6 am-6 pm (or whenever the client would like to train). The description of the employees above does not seem to represent our diverse and inclusive employees which is evidenced by 29% of our employees are females, 60% of our leadership positions are females, and 22% of our training staff are minorities. Thank you again for your feedback and we wish you the best in your future career.
