Pros

Compensation was good, but they were looking for midlevel and lower level staff so they didn't have to pay. They will be most likely looking to do more cuts in the future as they meld their workforce from 3-4 different companies. They offered a paid bonus to those who fit the bill internally but many got left behind. A couple of weeks after they bought me, the VP made a strategic decision to cut costs. The benefits were ok, but don't intend on having a long time there. The CEO has churned other companies in the past, do your diligence with your research. He might appear to be a nice guy, but he's ready to outsource all these jobs to other countries just like he did at other companies he was at, this guy pivots companies for more sale, especially mainframe ones. He's old school IBM/CA Technologies. He'll probably try to sell the company to IBM at some point.

Cons

This company decided to terminate me during COVID (their reason was my performance but I believe it was targeted. I should have figured out the red flags from this company when I was out to dinner, they talked about how they did prior layoffs/firings (laying off half the company and the other going out to dinner that night) like it was a badge of honor or something. Fortunately I found a job immediately after this scenario but it was rather a low blow ultimately from Digital.ai/ARXAN, because I literally had to beg for a severance so that I could feed my family. They were obviously looking for cheaper labor while this was all happening and before it was happening. They had me interviewing replacements (at lower pay grade) and it appears that they never decided to rehire for my position so it was obviously not my fault. The VPs here tout that this is a growing company, don't be fooled, it's a small company that has limited vision in the security space and limited vision to implementing their vision. They don't put any budget into tooling or hosting. They are the lowest spend on technology out of any company I have ever seen or worked at and for a technology company that's surprising (but again this is my own experience). This company was recently acquired by a collection of companies that are all in the same alignment called Digital.ai. They offer the same thing that many other companies offer but with far less capabilities, so I'm rather happy I left this company. The company utilizes labor in other countries and colleges for a reason. If you are interviewing to come over to this company from a GOOD company or at least a company that has some level of human character, don't leave, it'll probably be a huge mistake. The grass isn't greener here but the digital.ai site looks green, also looks like a website from the 1990s. Good job with that.

Pros

Digital.ai has a strong and genuinely supportive leadership team that makes it easy to succeed and feel valued from day one. The work-life balance is excellent, and the compensation package—both salary and commission—is competitive for the market. The downtown Raleigh office is in a great location, offering plenty of energy, convenience, and places to grab food or meet with colleagues. Overall, it’s a welcoming environment with a great culture.

Cons

None so far—I’ve just started, and everything has been positive.

Pros

The people. Some of the best people I have ever worked with. That includes HR. It has been a team effort from day 1. The pay is reasonable, the opportunity to win seems to be not so far away and you get credit when you shine. My managers never bothered me and allowed me to work, solve problems without unnecessary micromanaging and politics. Ultimately, they do care about their employees and don't pit team members against each other like the "FAANGS".

Cons

Too many titles outside of engineering. Work there long term, then watch your 401k grow at a snail's pace since there is no matching. There is no tuition reimbursement either. There is almost no emphasis on career development and no clear paths to progress. You have to be super aggressive with your own career planning. They took away U***y, which was very useful for self-training. 2-3 years is enough time there before you realize you might be boxed in.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re thrilled to hear that you’ve had the opportunity to work alongside such talented colleagues and that you’ve felt supported by your managers. Creating an environment where employees can thrive, collaborate, and be recognized for their contributions is a priority for us. Career development and clear growth paths are also a top priority, and the O’Reilly learning platform we implemented last year (replacing Udemy) has received great feedback from employees and is an important part of that commitment. We value your feedback and will continue to work on making Digital.ai a place where both people and careers can grow.
