Pros
The employee culture is diverse and I really like a lot of the people I work with. Great co-workers who are passionate about their job. Leadership is very forward thinking about how to expand the company and constantly making improvements to keep their customers AND employees happy. I've been a full-time employee for 4 years and have gotten a significant raise every year. Leadership conducts annual performance reviews and compensates those who are doing a good job. If you are looking to be lazy, count the hours down to 5:00 each day and collect a paycheck, this is not the job for you. The team works very hard - including CEO (Barry Grahek), CFO and COO - and they expect you to do the same. It's funny to read nasty comments (obviously written by former employees) about issues at this company...in almost 5 years that I've worked here, DesertMicro has opened offices in Sacramento and Houston to provide better support for their customers in different time zones, and they are in better financial standing than they've ever been.
Cons
Adequate training is provided, but they customize the training based on what your projected responsibilities will be. Because of that, you may be expected to hit the ground running with little supervision shortly after you start, which can also be considered a positive thing if you are able to manage yourself well without being micro-managed.
