Pros

The toilets have a little shelf at the back, so you can put your glasses there when you go in to have a cry.

Cons

I'm shocked that the rating here is as high as it is. Croner-i was a dreadful place to work. I've worked on the Poundstretcher shop floor, in call centres, and for companies that were almost certainly fronts for money laundering, and Croner-i was still worse. Benefits are non-existent (no maternity pay, minimum pension contribs, no sick days). There's an EAP, but it's run and owned by Peninsula - the same company that runs and owns Croner-i. They forced people back into the office extremely early on in the pandemic (I believe May/June 2020?!). There's next to no training and development, no appraisals, no employee reviews. It's unclear what your goals are supposed to be. Pay is poor and there are no pay reviews (I was told Croner-i "doesn't do raises"). Gender pay gap is appalling for the group too. Culture is bizarre and outdated - e.g. you'll be in full business dress all day regardless of your role. Hours are strict for some reason, you can't be late or switch them around. Having packages delivered to the office is frowned upon. I was warned against getting too close to certain colleagues, because they were apparently 'snitching' to the CEO. Some senior managers were seriously concerned that meeting rooms had been bugged. You're micromanaged to death, too. There's no HR (!) - they're based in the group company in Manchester. And get ready to keep a strict paper trail of everything that happens in your time, because I know multiple former colleagues who saw Croner-i in an employment tribunal. Anyway, now that I've posted this, look out for the flurry of new 5-star reviews that just happen to appear from current sales staff a few days later.

Croner-i Response

Hi there! We actually don't have an office in Texas so would be keen to know where you were based and if you were an employee of Croner-i. Our company operates in two UK based locations, one is London and the other is in Hinckley. If you did indeed work for us it's good to hear you have positive experiences to share regarding the benefits and training available - thanks for sharing this on Glassdoor! We'd love to know more on the cons you raised and what you mean by a rigid culture. We offer lots of incentives and benefits making our culture second to none so would be great to know how this can be made even better! Please do get in touch with us directly if you would like to elaborate on the points raised.
