Pros
Good benefits such as a pension, free Internet and Cable, good healthcare plans, etc. services work well on the HFC side of the business. Fiber Metro Ethernet and Internet are among the best in the industry. Privately held company. Lots of local support for Cox employees during Katrina.
Cons
Backwards management at the senior level (old boy Sprint Business team has completely taken over) stodgy financial practices, slow to react to market pressure. Management tends to only see people in the role they were hired into, so don't plan on any career advancement. Limited service areas and no real national footprint. Not a true enterprise sales organization. Reps are relegated to selling piecemeal offerings and partnering with reps in other markets. Clunky ordering processes. Toxic sales culture and rampant backbiting. Compensation plans get leaner each year.
