Pros

Schedule Flexibility Unlimited PTO (and most people actually take it) Benefits are pretty good and deductibles are good for a company this size HR cares The People - some aren't great (see cons) but there is a solid core of amazing people that work here

Cons

The company went through a major re-org a year and a half ago and things have only gone downhill since then. Coviance had its issues before, but it's gotten WAY worse. "Good Ol' Boys Club" - sexism is the prevailing policy here. If you aren't an OG and are female, good luck Toxic Sales Culture - if you want any chance to have your career be successful, be fully ready to submit to any whim of the sales team. If you aren't willing to do that, you'll stagnate. Poor follow-through - LOTS of people that talk a big talk but have zero follow-through (or intent to follow-through). If you try to hold people to their word/follow-up on projects to ensure they're completed/etc be prepared for lots of resistance The easy way is preferred over the right way - if you care about things being done the right way, this isn't the place for you. You'll be in the minority and people will treat you differently for it.

Pros

Remote, unlimited vacation, cheap insurance, snacks in the kitchen

Cons

Working at Coviance was a deeply disappointing experience. The company's issues stem from poor management and a lack of clear communication at all levels. Leadership frequently fails to provide any meaningful direction, leaving employees to operate in a state of constant confusion. The company’s priorities seem overly focused on profits rather than fostering a healthy work environment. Layoffs are handled insensitively, creating a culture of fear and uncertainty among the staff. This contributes to a toxic workplace where morale is consistently low. The lack of transparency and accountability from upper management exacerbates these issues, making it difficult for employees to trust leadership or feel valued. Overall, Coviance falls short of being a company that supports its team or prioritizes ethical business practices. If you're considering working here, proceed with caution. There are better opportunities elsewhere where your skills and well-being will be genuinely appreciated.

Pros

Unlimited PTO. Ability to work from home (for now).

Cons

It’s difficult to know where to begin. Advancement opportunities seem to depend heavily on gender, with promotions and raises disproportionately favoring male employees. If you work in a commission-based role, expect to chase down your metrics, verify your own numbers, and audit your paychecks regularly. Discrepancies are common, yet the process to confirm and correct them is intentionally convoluted. No professional should have to beg for the compensation they've rightfully earned. The organization’s leadership struggles with both management skills and industry expertise, creating a culture of deflection and blame-shifting reminiscent of the classic Spider-Man meme. In my experience, personal achievements were dismissed, attributed solely to inherited accounts rather than merit or effort. Despite spending tens of thousands of dollars on industry conferences, the company neglects to invest in its employees’ development—unless you count the in-office Pac-Man machine as professional enrichment. To top it off, their restrictive non-compete clause ensures that leaving for a competitor could result in legal threats, including cease-and-desist letters or potential lawsuits. Proceed with caution.
