The culture at Costa did not encourage employees to give ideas that would improve their operation or processes. Management, and especially upper management, did not like new people coming to the company giving suggestions on how to make the company run smoother. In fact, you were shunned when you came up with smart ideas though people weren't trying to look as if they were smarter. If they did use your idea the manager would take credit for it. All levels of Management were self-absorbed and only concerned about their power over people; my boss was a bully and wasn't the only one there. It really was a terrible place to work; I would cry often knowing I had to go in. So, I left and it was the best thing I ever did as I've never worked in an environment that depressing and negative.
