Pros

Most of the people who work at Core, do so because of the people they work with. Some of the brightest and most knowledgeable people work at Core, making it an invaluable learning experience for you if you are willing to learn and ask questions. The environment gives many opportunities for you to advance your leadership and technical skills. They utilize an unlimited PTO system for salaried employees, but you need to make sure you prioritize your time-off or you can get caught up in not taking any PTO at all. Bonuses are fair, pay is average for the market. There are many opportunities for promotion and hard work is definitely rewarded financially. Leadership is trying everything in their power to make Core BTS a better place to work. They always solicit feedback from the employees, implement new plans, ideas and tactics in an effort to make life better for the employees and clients. It is critical though that employees keep in mind that changes in large companies take time and Core is doing what it can to implement them as quickly as they can. They have high standards for their interactions/work with clients and it is why they succeed in so many projects.

Cons

Path forward to promotions aren't always clear but they are working hard to make that more transparent. It is incredibly difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance at Core BTS. There is a lot of praise focused on individuals who work 60+ hours a week, which leaves a lot of people mentally drained and not as optimistic about their day to day work because they feel obligated to put in that many hours in an effort to get ahead. Its not a sustainable method for most workers and I think that may have catered to much of the turnover Core has experienced. Core suffers from the "problem" of too much work and not enough people. Due to that, employees are often tasked with numerous client projects and in-house initiatives. This lends to the aforementioned problem of not being able to maintain a healthy work/life balance. Core is working to rectify this though by hiring more people to lighten the workloads on their people and increasing leadership positions so that all employees are properly communicated with and checked on. Diversity in upper leadership is severely lacking.

Pros

The benefits were decent and the flexibility was nice. Appreciate the multitude of opportunities to network and travel. Some of the folks are really awesome and helpful.

Cons

Absolute trash at training anyone. Expects green engineers to know 10+ years worth of stuff that Principals would find difficult. If you manage to overcome all that and still make things work, you still get fired because management has an ego and hates seeing someone self taught and a minority succeed. Was set up to fail from the moment I was begrugendly brought on to the team.
