Cons
A CEO more focused on sales, and AI hype than on real technology challenges. Large promises are made to clients in order to close deals at all costs. But once contracts are signed, engineering and product teams are left to figure out how to deliver — without the necessary resources or support. There is an army of customer support staff, yet no meaningful investment in engineering to sustainably build and improve the product. We are constantly asked to do more with fewer resources. We’re repeatedly told we should move faster thanks to AI, but there is little willingness to truly understand our technical constraints or address the root causes of our challenges. I spend most of my time context switching. My days are extremely intense, yet much of my time is consumed by short-term priorities and bug fixing rather than building long-term value. Our data team has been cut in half. As a result, we are forced to decline a significant portion of client requests — even when those requests are legitimate and strategically relevant. There is no clearly defined product strategy; priorities shift overnight. We were performing extremely well before the acquisition. Since then, the organization has significantly deteriorated. We have the potential to do outstanding work, but it’s being squandered. A real shame.
