There are some really nice people that are employed by Clyde Bergemann and would go out of their way to help others but not in project execution department (Controls)
Cons
No career advancement opportunity for project execution department (Controls). Management would rather let you quit than transfer you to the other department. Do not expect you get promoted because you have been putting 60 or 70 hours a week for the past three years.
Controls engineer most likely dealing with politics more than project. Lots of politics going on in controls department and it will never ever be resolved. Controls engineers are responsible to do CAD drawings and BOM more than developing program.
Management would keep asking about the frustration point yet nothing has been changed. I guess they are having a lot of fun watching controls engineer frustrated and stressed when executing the projects but not taking serious about controls engineer’s feedback. 30 controls engineers left and the situation still the same. One of the reasons is because CEO is afraid to let go 2 controls managers.
Controls department is like a gold mine for contractor. They do the same job as controls engineer but they get better paid and better exposure. Example, contractors are getting paid for being on called and OT but not full time controls engineer.
