Pros

Pros - As a company that tries to develops tools to understand climate change risk, it focuses a lot on its innovation capacity. You don’t see a lot what they are trying to achieve at the other companies. It will definitely help you get on your learning curve on your technical skills. - The team is small enough for you to work and talk closely with everybody else. - Typical start up environment where you take a lot of roles and responsibilities and lean a lot if that’s what you want. - You still have a good life-work balance here. - You work with climate change issues which is motivating.

Cons

- The company is still at its starting phase so the benefit package is not as great as other companies.

Pros

- Climate.IQ is an intellectually-driven, innovative tech company that strives to mitigate climate change and its resulting flood risks in vulnerable communities across the U.S. During my 6-month internship here, I have always been inspired by the strong social and environmental responsibilities of the company and its managers. It is a motivating experience for me to further develop my academic and career goals in the field of environmental science and sustainability. - Climate.IQ is a small size startup, therefore has provided many opportunities and challenged me to be multi-tasking in different fields. It is a great learning experience and has definitely broadened my mind in not only entry-level tasks but also the development of the whole company. - Company managers are open-minded, willing to listen to and respect different opinions. The colleagues are also nice to work with.

Cons

As a startup company in the social/environmental field, it is sometimes challenging to identify a clear business model so that we have to keep adjusting our approaches. Meanwhile, however, this process makes working at Climate.IQ more of a career rather than just a job.
