Pros
The environmental field is an interesting career option. Unfortunately the huge number of negatives in this company make this company a very poor choice. The cruel company culture, lack of raises (one every four years), exceptionally poor benefits, unsophisticated senior and executive management team and total lack of a retirement program has remained in place for years and years. I had hoped it would change in my time there but it didn't and it won't for you either.
Cons
The turnover in this company is like nothing I have ever seen. The goal of any employee who sticks with this sinking ship is to merely survive. Success is defined as surviving. The CEO and his staff have created a culture that is without question based on intimidation and bullying. Don't believe me? Ask around. I have seen so many top notch employees humiliated in a public setting. These are five star performers who are ripped apart for simply speaking the truth. Think about this for a moment; only about 30% of the current employees would recommend Clean Harbors. Would you send your child to a school if only 30% of the parents would recommend the school? Would you move into a neighborhood if only 30% of the current residents would recommend the neighborhood? This is what you are getting if you take a position with this company. Combine the horrid culture with next to no raises, poor benefits and no retirement package and that my friend is what you are walking into. Do your research.
