Awful management - Waitress Chez Jules Employee Review

Charming and full of history. Lively atmosphere and predominantly friendly customers. Long-term staff have a strong bond and teamwork is exceptional. Excellent food (on the rare occasion you are given a staff meal).

Management have reputation for being very toxic, shouting at staff publicly, or being emotionally manipulative. Staff often crying at work. Always working 1 - 1.5 hours past shift time scheduled on rota. Full-timers tend to do in excess of 50 hour weeks. No transparency on tips, staff who snitch on other staff receive much higher tips than other staff who work longer hours or have been working there longer. Tips can be withheld for weeks if management has a problem with you.

The reason I work here is because it's a non-traditional, culturally rich, and warm environment. It's not a chain, standardized place.

You can enjoy a relatively flexible schedule and interact with a happy crowd that appreciates the delicious and affordable food here.
