Pros
Good work environment, I have a great manager, great doctors, great team.
Cons
They don't really care. I did think it was weird at first how enthusiastic they were about hiring so many people. If they're such a good company, they need to really take a look at themselves and start to wonder why there is such a high employee turnover rate. Corporate needs to get their boots on the ground and evaluate the structure of the company. They don't practice what they preach when it comes to the "ChenMed Way" and do nothing to listen to make things better for their patient or employees. It is a broken system and upper management/corporate pretend everything is just fine. The referral and authorization process is despicable. My job is literally to listen to patients complain about missed appointments and waiting at their appointments for an authorization to be sent in order for them to be seen. Other practices hate working with Chen. I guess the rude awakening will be when patients leave Chen for Conviva, Leon, or others. I honestly thought Leon was the worst, but I would never move my grandparents from Leon to Chen. EVER! It's a shame because they really do have amazing doctors. Their talent is being wasted at Chen. Sales or Membership Growth Consultants (MGC)'s are snakes. They will do anything and say anything to a prospective patient in order to get them to sign up with Chen. Most new patients are extremely disappointed because we cannot deliver what they were promised. Always short staffed, but thats not surprising with whats mentioned above. Some policies seem stringent and priorities change frequently and constantly Your hard work is never enough, because they’ll always ask more of you; however, they’ll never give you more. Or if you cant give them more, you’re the problem. Terrible work/life balance. They tell you "we heard you and want to give you more," but their sick bank is pretty much a joke, its nearly impossible to accumulate a decent amount of PTO for a real vacation, and I have never heard of a company that stops letting you accumulate PTO the last two months of the year. They don’t apply their Core Values to their employees. INCREDIBLY underpaid. Good luck, if you deicide to ask for a raise. Management does not listen to any issues. They are just money hungry. The sicker the patient, the better... "let's just run more tests to get more money" -- and if the patient contests, the center suffers as do the employees. Terrible benefits. I could barely make ends meet with their compensation, then you provide these incredibly high deductible plans. You're better off getting Obamacare. Yes, it's THAT bad.
