Pros
Staff at all levels love libraries and are passionate about helping people. Great colleagues who are creative about approaching budget challenges. Management shares monthly department reports with all staff. Beautiful building, patio cafe, bookstore in basement. Get to work surrounded by great books and movies!
Cons
Property tax revenues have been decreasing, so the library's budget has also been decreasing or staying flat—for years now. With every staff member who leaves and isn't replaced, more work falls to those who are left. Very few career paths available in organization.
