Pros

Massive Exposure to Refinery Operations. Chemical Engineering. Power Distribution and Generation. Measurements and Instrumentation and to do projects related with Engineers. They have regular interactive workshops related to health, safety, factory ordinance, utility operations which is very helpful. You can even request for training in other fields you like to learn about and add it to the schedule.

Cons

As an intern the pay was peanuts but the experience is great. Some things like record keeping is very outdated. Facilities for trainees is only limited to a room and tea. Exposure to refinery gases is inevitable so people with Asthma may need extra caution. Management doesn't like it when interns bring their own gas mask. Safety Equipment was limited to Helmets only. I almost got my foot pearced through a ground rod but luckily I stepped a little away and the rod only tore the leather on the side. University Background Discrimination: Interns from Government Universities like Peradeniya, show 0 collaboration efforts or teamwork with private university interns.
