Pros
Co Workers are wonderful to work with and we all support each other. I have tons of passion for the Products.
Cons
Average workload can go up to 50 or more projects. A lot of them are active and it does feel like our role is more mitigating risk than being a Project Manager. Part of the struggle is that there are not enough resources to work on projects so everyone is beyond the max of how much they can work a week. We are very top heavy without enough resources at the bottom level. It feels impossible trying to manage so many projects and schedule resources when they are too over worked. To top it off, the yearly raises are nothing short of a slap in the face. It does not feel like there is enough work life balance and work can seep into the weekends or late nights if you want to stay afloat and not have clients escalate or management. I do feel like I have no idea what direction we are going as a company. Often times there are people in leadership making decisions for my Projects without me having any say. This makes it challenging to deliver and prioritize the many projects I have.
