Pros
A select few employees are intelligent, conscientious, and kind... but truly only a few.
Cons
1. Blatant disregard for safety. There is no security, no metal detectors, etc, plus you are expected to be out and about in Norristown on your own and even during “extended” weeks until 7pm after all other staff have clocked out. 2. Constant micromanaging(!!!) 3. Unprofessional co-workers. 4. Clueless management that does not care about you as a person, their only care is meeting the county requirements. Also management has no understanding or reasoning for said requirements. 5. Unattainable productivity goals. You are expected to achieve 55% of billable time each day, which does not include any travel time or any interaction less than 8 minutes and you are to blame if your client, who is typically suffering from addiction or serious mental illness, does not show up for their appointment with you. In addition, you are expected to meet with your supervisor weekly, another supervisor bi-weekly if you’re not meeting your productivity goal, which many never meet, as well as clinical meetings every week. 6. ALSO Norristown is infested with BED BUGS and Central has no routine treatments. They only treat when a bed bug has been seen and this is a major risk to both staff and clients alike, not that management cares. 7. The compensation, $30k, is laughable for the work you will do. On one of my first days one of my clients said I would be “overworked and underpaid” and she was absolutely right. 8. Zero work-life balance. You alternate with your co-workers weeks where you are “on-call” and weeks where you are “extended” meaning you work 9-7 mon-thurs and even on weeks where you aren’t doing on-call or extended the work is so draining that all you can do is go home and sleep. 9. Honestly I wish I never worked here, and that’s saying a lot as I have worked minimum wage jobs like food stores and convenience stores. This company has no respect for their employees, they simply hire fresh faces and drain them of everything they have until the employee can muster up the strength to get out while they can. Those in management are under qualified and ill-equipped for their positions. This place should be shut down because ultimately if it’s this terrible for employees it can’t be much better for those receiving services. I believe the county would be better without this provider. 10. I sincerely warn you against working here and advise you to look elsewhere, preferably far away from Norristown.
