Pros
Pay is very good for here in the area, none of the work is especially difficult, heath benefits are GREAT
Cons
Constantly have shut downs, will extend those Witt downs from 2 weeks to 5 or 6 weeks with very little notice. 1 week of vacation for the 1st 3 years you're there, but it gets earmarked for the shutdowns. The production management has fostered the mentality of who cares, the repair department will fix it. The quality has completely dropped off. Last Feb, 30 min into the first day back from a 6 WEEK shutdown, upper management calls an all hands meeting, says a bunch of you aren't going to have jobs in 2 weeks, you'll find out sometime in the next 24-48 hours if you get to stay, have a great night and be productive. HR dept never has any answers about questions, they just give you a number to call so you can sit on the phone for 45 min on hold. Favoritism is absolutely run rampant in most departments, the company is trying to penny pinch on the most ridiculous things that are required to do your job (gloves are a prime example, required at all times while working, but only 1 pair is authorized per person per week, regardless if they are soaked in engine oil, hydraulic fluid, diesel fuel or coolant). CONSTANT part shortages. The list goes on and on
