Good salary and benefits. However over the last 5-6 years the levels have been decreased significantly
Cons
Bad corporate culture. Firefighting all the time. On the personal level; people are more interested in their own career advancement than doing actual HR work.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. With a 24/7/365 operation CN could not function without our dedicated employees. We pride ourselves on providing our team with great compensation and benefits. When we recruit talent to our teams, we spend a lot of time going over the working conditions and the realities associated with the railroad operating 24/7/365 days a year. We are sorry to hear about your experience with us and hope that you shared it with our colleague during your exit interview so we can develop strategies to do better in the future. We thank you for your hard work and having helped move our business and the economy forward.

Pays decently well for first job out of college. My manager and team are very reasonable with expectations placed on new hires. Working after office hours (past 4:30pm) is extremely rare and only expected in emergencies.
Cons
Very slow and/or limited job growth potential. Promotions into middle management are almost purely based on reputation with middle managers who are largely people with previous field experience. This is very disadvantageous to direct-from-college hires like myself and even my current manager.
