Pros

Geneva and French countryside is a beautiful place to live in. Exceptional work life balance. Exceptional benefits and no taxes.

Cons

Very difficult to be hired on an indefinite contract (IC staff) if this is what you want. Most of the time they don't hire the people that can deliver, but rather for political reasons. The result is that there are some staff that do literally nothing. There is still a lot of talented people, but I think they would do better elsewhere. This is extremely toxic work environment. It is still good to be there for few years, but not any longer if you care about your career progress.

Pros

The employment process is very smooth and supportive. The technical team interviewed me for technical skills, and the HR is very supportive and helpful. Especially I haven't been employed by CERN previously, so I have a lot of questions. The employment team is very helpful and answered all my questions patiently. Also I like the job and my work very much.

Cons

Maybe the primary communication method could be email instead of phone calls? I sometimes miss phone calls, but will check every email.
