Pros

Good benefits, location, and free lunch 2 days per week. Unfortunately, most potential was overshadowed by significant cultural and leadership issues.

Cons

Leadership tolerated — and at times perpetuated — behaviors that created extreme daily stress for junior staff. There was little accountability for management overload and chemistry team misconduct, and many interactions felt personal rather than professional. While 2023 was a positive year for me at the company, 2024 brought significant changes leading to zero work life balance, burnout was systematically ignored, and bad actors were promoted within discovery leadership from director to executive level. The toxic behavior from some senior staff were so severe it has left a lasting negative impact on my career. Layoffs were frequently occurring every few months leaving very few to feel safe and valued. Overall, I would caution co-ops from considering a full-time conversion at CAMP4 for their own wellbeing.

Pros

The benefits of the people are overall good and very nice. There’s free lunch two days a week which is definitely a plus and there’s good office perks.

Cons

Upper management is extremely toxic and there’s no work life balance. They brought back someone from upper management who had left the company and came back and when sad person came back people were in tears and they had to have HR counseling sessions in to talk these people off the ledge. This upper management person had also had HR issues before and was still brought back in and is being protected by the CEO because they’re upper management. Company events and holiday parties are basically mandatory here you are highly shunned and shamed. If you skip these events and happy hours it doesn’t matter if you have a family or a life.
