Pros
Great atmosphere to work with students, parents, and good teachers. The new CEO is trying to shift the mindset from sales to education. There are some (usually tutors, assistants, and some directors) who actually care about the success of the students. Reasonable benefits.
Cons
BUT the company is super greedy and sales oriented. I worked under a VERY unqualified and ignorant director of a mega-center (half the regional budget) who didn’t know the difference between early decision and early action in the college admission process; yet one of her biggest roles was to counsel students on this very thing. In the short time I was there, I saw 5 assistants and 3 tutors leave because of her. I can’t count the number of shady and unprofessional things that happened in the office - and when many of us reported these very things to HR, time and time again, the director was kept on board because she knows how to manipulate parents and bring in big bucks for the company. The people who actually took the time to report these things were thrown under the bus. I’ve seen upper management change from people who initially cared about education to manipulators that only care about the numbers and looking good to their superiors. They’ve lost so much talent and hearts who truly cared for the success of these students. Much of the system is due to the greedy ways that this company grew from. The new CEO seems to be shifting the attitude, but it’s a slow trickle down. Hard to train an old dog new tricks.
